Uploading to BOLD
=================

**Note: For DNA Barcoding workflow only**

Once DNA Barcoding upload has ended, we encourage you to upload the data package to `BOLD`_. Many of the steps can be completed in ONTOLOGY, however some steps must be completed on the `BOLD`_ website.

**The following must be completed prior to data package upload:**
    1. Create an account on `BOLD`_ (https://boldsystems.org/)
    2. Create a project OR ensure that a pre-existing project has been created
    3. Verify that you have project access on the `BOLD`_ website. It is OK if the project is currently empty. 
    4. Make note of the BOLD project code. You will use this code to submit your data in ONTOLOGY.

**Once a project has been set up on the BOLD website and the DNA Barcode workflow has finished:**

    1. Use the right arrow to navigate to the *BOLD UPLOAD* screen.
    2. Click the **Download Specimen Data Batch Submission File** and fill in any blank cells with any information that you want to include. Removing data will trigger an error upon uploading the data package.
    3. Click the **Upload Specimen Data Batch Submission File** and select your updated file.
    4. Enter the email address that is linked to your BOLD account in the **Contact Email** field.
    5. Enter the exact 3-5 digit **BOLD Project Code** as used on the `BOLD`_ website.
    6. Click the **Submit Data Package** button. It will take some time to complete and issue a popup window when the data package has successfully completed. 
    7. That's it! Thank you for using BOLD!
